Hailing from a traditionally affluent and aristocratic family in Kanhangad, Late Sri. C K Nair had been actively involved & instrumental in launching several humanitarian, cultural & educational projects. He had been rightly at the helm of affairs in many a progressive and charitable endeavors. No wonder his name had been synonymous with commitment, dedication & selfless service. Probably he had been one of the most popular and respected personalities of North Kerala during the second half of the previous century. Apart from occupying leadership status as panchayath president and Adhikari, he had extended a helping hand to various individuals and institutions very liberally.

The Nehru Memorial Education Society has ventured to record its profuse gratitude to the glowing memory of Late Shri. C K Nair by launching a new ambitious project in the unaided sector C K Nair Arts & Management College, affiliated to Kannur University and approved by the Govt. Of Kerala is envisaged as a prestigious center of learning. The institution was formally inaugurated by on 4th September, 2014, by the president of the society Smt. Susheela Nair, at the temporary premises of Rajas building, Nileshwar. Regular classes commenced on 16 th September 2014. The foundation stone for the permanent building was laid by padmabhushan K K Venugopal, senior advocate, Supreme Court of India on 26th December 2014. Within a very short span of a few months, the new spacious building of the college was inaugurated by Smt Susheela Nair, President of Nehru Memorial Education Society on 31st August 2015.
At present the college offers undergraduate Programs in B Com (corporation), B Com (finance), B.B.A and B A(English), to cater to specific academic requirements of the student community of Kasaragod and adjacent districts. We are looking forward to start more undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the near future. Our institution strives to run on equity, justice and quality of higher education.
